As our vacation is quickly coming to a halt, it seems impossible that we have been here for almost a week already. I have had the best time on this vacation, so much so that I almost don't want to come home! But of course I miss my dog, Sloan & all of our family and friends we left behind.
The week started with a late night arrival & early rising to get out to the beach to soak up as much sun as possible. That's what every day has consisted of actually. We have enjoyed late nights shopping (well I have) at Peir Park, the beach and driving around on the strip with the top down on our convertible! Our days mostly consist of the beach or the pool, taking a quick break for lunch and then hitting it again. It's a routine we have come accustomed to!
Yesterday we rode Jet Skiis. It was sooo much fun! But also, soooo scary! I have never done it before, but Leighton had, so thankfully he took the drivers seat and I just rode. When I say rode I really mean held on for dear life while he ramped waves at 75 mph. Ha! Should have seen my hair..... My brother let us take his go pro, so I will post some video later. Such a great way to capture the fun!
We finished the night with a family dinner at Margarittaville. It was so fun & so good! Lucky for us, we made it on a night that they were doing balloon animals and you guessed it...we got one! After dinner, we shopped at the more popular shops like Francesca's, Victoria Secret and Charming Charlie's...like we have at home. I loved it, Leighton tolerated. ;) we were going to go sit at an outside bar, but of course I didn't have my ID so we settled with a beer and ice cream out on the beach (for free!!!!).
This vacation is one I will never forget, mostly because it's the first vacation Leighton and I have taken together, but also because of all the memories we are making together. If there was a criteria to be considered a beach person, that would definitely be Leighton and I. I can't wait for the many more vacations and adventures we will have together.
Here's to what's left of our time in the sun!
With love & a sprinkle of sarcasm,
Shelby
