Unfortunately, I missed most of last nights episode, SO my recap would have been a little scarce! Instead I thought I might talk about my thoughts on Nick V and his presence on the show this season.
It's no secret that I love Kaitlyn as the Bachelorette. I love her sarcasm, her personality and the way she handles herself. However, Nick really has a way of breaking her walls down. I really liked Nick V on Andi's season...however I didn't think he was right for Andi, she clearly didn't either. I was always team Josh though, and I was really heart broken when Andi and Josh split. That's besides the point of this post!
Nick V has a very dominant personality. He really reminds me of the character from 50 Shades of Grey. Hahaha! Maybe a bad analogy given what happened last night on the show, but he is definitely the type of guy that has to have control of his woman. Although Nick is very dominant and can come off as cocky, I do find his personality to be a fair mesh with Kaitlyn. Perhaps they might mellow each other out. On the other hand, Kaitlyn is such a joker and I am just not sure that Nick can keep up! So that's confusing.
I think the reason why Kaityn is so smitten with Nick V is because she knew him pre-show. I remember seeing them talk on Twitter myself. I think she feels more comfortable with him and finds it easier to be herself with him because she has done the show before and knows not only the ropes, but they also already knew each other from a social media stand point. Who knows, maybe when they talked on Social Media there was always an ounce of hope that something could come of it.
The Bachelor Network is taking a lot of risks with Kaitlyn, she is like none of the other Bachelorette's they have ever had. If you watched last nights episode, you know that there was a scene where Nick & Kaitlyn had some intimate alone time. This is controversial because we want to think that the Bachelor Network is the perfect relationship going to the most perfect places and that's it. Well in real life, this stuff happens!! Kaitlyn is 30 years old and can make her own decisions in relation to herself. Sure maybe we all don't want to know about it or hear it on tv... But that is her decision. I hate on the show they showed her saying it was a mistake or whatever it was that she said. Although it might have been silly considering she was on camera with a microphone strapped to her, it was probably the realist we have ever seen on the show. They never show what happens after the one on one dates so I think right on to Bachelor Network for being real!! I know now Kaitlyn is totally owning the situation, but why shouldn't she? We all make our own choices, and her choices don't affect us, heck it just makes really good reality tv for us :)
SO I haven't quite gone team Nick V yet, and I probably never will but I am still team Kaitlyn.
What are your thoughts?
With love & a sprinkle of sarcasm,
Shelby
